Air Heater – an explanation.

An air heater, also known as a space heater, is a portable device designed to heat the air in a small area quickly and efficiently.  There are many different types of air heaters on the market, using a variety of fuel types.

When shopping for an air heater, take into consideration where you will be using the device.  Will you be using it in your home to heat a bedroom?  Will you be using it in an office?  Perhaps a garage or a shed?  Will you be using it to supplement another heat source or will it be the primary heating source?  What is your budget?

If you are using your air heater in your home to supplement your furnace and lower your heating bills, an electric air heater is a good option.  They are relatively cheap compared to other types of heaters and come in a variety of sizes to heat different sized rooms.  All you need to run an electric air heater is an outlet.  Larger heaters will require a dedicated outlet on a circuit that can handle the load.  Smaller heaters can share an outlet and probably won’t use enough energy to be a problem if plugged into the same circuit as many other devices.

Air Heater- use it according to your space.

Once you’ve determined the size of air heater needed for your space, take a look at the various types available on the market.  Some air heaters are cool to the touch, which is ideal if you have small children or pets.  Cool touch air heaters are also the safest option because they present the lowest risk of starting a fire.

There is a wide range of prices of electric air heaters, so no matter your budget, you should be able to find something affordable.  There is a lot of competition in the electric air heater market, which has steadily been driving down the cost of the heaters.

Other types of air heaters include propane heaters, gas heaters, and kerosene heaters.  Propane and gas heaters can take the form of a gas fireplace, which not only warms your space, but adds a nice focal point to the room.  Installing the gas fireplace air heater permanently in the wall and adding a decorative mantle around it changes the look of a room significantly.  These types of air heaters are about form as much as function, though they should not be discounted as a valuable heating device.  Some models of gas fireplace air heaters can even be used during a power outage, which can literally be a life saver when a winter storm knocks out the power for multiple days.

Kerosene air heaters have lost popularity in the past decade because of safety concerns and pollution.  Kerosene air heaters put out a lot of heat in a relatively small space.  The flame is less contained than in other types of heaters and the kerosene fuel is highly flammable and perceived to be somewhat dangerous to store.

With all the types of different air heater on the market, there is a style to suit your needs at a price you can afford.  With the rising costs of energy, popularity will not be declining any time soon for portable air heater.
